FAS ATG & Library staff win People's Choice Award at New Media Consortium

July 7, 2014

A presentation titled A Teaching and Learning Model—Authoring Beyond the Words won the "NMC People's Choice Award" at the New Media Consortium (NMC) annual meeting in Portland, Oregon in June as part of NMC's Idea Lab presentations. Kevin Guiney, Senior Multimedia and Instructional Technologist of the FAS Academic Technology Group (ATG); Paul Worster, Multimedia Librarian for Maps, Media, Data and Government Information in Lamont Library; and I gave this presentation based on our evolving program stemming from the work of the Multimedia Lab in Lamont Library. The Lab is a joint partnership between the Library and ATG and our program is coordinated through the Expanding the Boundaries of Authorship group. We plan to give an informal presentation in the fall on our "take-aways" from the NMC meeting and talk about the presentation we gave. The graphic model we used in our presentation that depicts our approach to evolving a program can be found on my blog post of June 27th in our Expanding the Boundaries of Authorship Web site—please stay tuned.
