Fall Canvas course sites are ready

Canvas sites have been created and are ready to be set up! Faculty and teaching staff will find their list of Fall courses in my.harvard.edu. Faculty are asked to have their sites ready with syllabi and published for students to preview by August 16th. More information about Canvas, including tutorials and documentation, is available on our Canvas page.

Fall Update: XIDs are being replaced by HarvardKey Light

XIDs are being replaced by HarvardKey Light. In the past, individuals without Harvard IDs who needed to be added to Canvas sites were prompted to sign up for an XID. Beginning this summer, XIDs are being replaced by HarvardKey Light. Information on HarvardKey Light, including how to activate an account, is available in the HUIT Knowledge Base.

January 2021 Zoom updates for remote teaching

A few key Zoom updates this fall offer great improvements for remote teaching:

  • Self-select breakout rooms: this new option lets your meeting participants choose which breakout room to join.
  • Co-host features: Co-hosts now have the same breakout room controls as the meeting host, such as starting or ending breakout rooms, assigning participants, etc.
  • Zoom recordings to Panopto: If you are recording your class meetings in Zoom, we recommend you enable the new integration with Panopto, which automatically migrates all Zoom recordings to our video management tool. Fill out this form to get started....
