Whether creating an online repository of historical maps, generating a multilayer GIS map of the multi-faith landscape of American cities, or mapping a saintly cult or pilgrimage, online maps encourage students to think spatially and critically.

ATG has experience supporting these web-based maps:

- Google Earth
- Google Maps
- OpenLayers
- WorldMap

Additional Resources:

- The [Center for Geographical Analysis (CGA)](http://gis.harvard.edu/) supports geospatial research and teaching at Harvard University.
- [The Harvard Map Collection](http://hcl.harvard.edu/libraries/maps/) is the oldest map collection in America, having grown to include ca. 400,000 maps, more than 6,000 atlases, and several thousand reference books. Topographic maps, city plans, nautical charts, and thematic maps comprise this excellent research collection representing all chronological periods and significant map makers. The Map Collection also has a strong commitment to digital resources and manages the collections of the [Harvard Geospatial Library](https://library.harvard.edu/services-tools/harvard-geospatial-library).
