**Preliminary questions to ask yourself**

- How do you plan to use the product?
    - what type of questions (multiple choice, true/false, other) would you like to use?
    - how would you like to collect students responses (anonymously or not)?
- In which classroom are you going to teach (if already known)?
- What is the expected enrollment for the class?
- What response devices would you like the students to use (clickers, laptops, smartphones -- note: not mutually exclusive)?
- How early in the class would you like to poll the students (e.g. starting with the first lecture during shopping period)?
- What kind of computer do you plan to use in class (Mac or Windows)?

We recommend you [get in touch with us](/icb/icb.do?keyword=atg&pageid=icb.page232623) to discuss these questions and others as answers to these will determine the options available to you.

Through its polling software TurningPoint version 5, polling can happen directly in PowerPoint (so-called PowerPoint Polling) or through a floating interactive toolbar in any Windows or Mac application (so-called Anywhere Polling). For more information, consult the Turning Technologies [Polling Software](http://turningtechnologies.com/polling-solutions) page.

TurningPoint allows several response options from your students, ranging from clickers (e.g. response cards) to smartphones and/or laptops (so-called [ResponseWare](http://www.turningtechnologies.com/response-solutions/responseware) solution). For more information consult the Turning Technologies [Response Options](http://turningtechnologies.com/response-solutions) page.
